| Cafe Britt's Shade-Grown
Blend: Arabica and Organic Arabica coffees are the most aromatic,
least acidic coffees in the world.
All "gourmet" coffees are of the
Arabica variety, which is grown in mountainous regions between
3,280 - 4265 feet above sea level.
These coffees are hailed worldwide for their unequaled quality
and flavor.
Cafe Britt Organic is harvested from
plantations that use 100% organic materials to improve and
fertilize the soil. In this way, soil quality is ensured and
ground water protected.
The Coffee bushes flourish under
the shady embrace of native tree species, which increase the
plantation's biodiversity by attracting migrating birds and
other animals. This makes for longer-term sustainability of
the region's agro-ecosystem and economics.
Shade trees also provide additional
benefits. Growers who shade their plantations with fruit trees
may earn extra by selling the trees' bounty.
Shade trees planted for the quality
of their wood may also responsiblt harvested or left to grow
and capture carbon dioxide. Finally, vine or tallergrowing
vegetables add nutrients to the soil and can be used to shade
young coffee plants.
