Therapeutic indication:
The Costa Rica Ministry of Health has approved the following therapeutic indications for natural ESTRONAL ® because of the estrogen like action. ESTRONAL ® those bothering symptoms of climacteric (menopause) and premenstrual syndrome.

Mechanism of action

Estrogenic action: This action is shown in two ways: one is due to competence with 17_-estradiol for the estrogenic receptor and the second form is by a decrease in the luteinizing hormone. This mechanism is due to three types of compounds with endocrine activity: the first has no affinity for the estrogenic receptor but anyhow it reduces the concentration of the luteinizing hormone, perhaps by some action on the pituitary gland; the second compound shows affinity for the estrogenic receptor and besides it reduces the luteinizing hormone levels. The third compound showed affinity for the estrogenic receptor but no action on the concentration of the luteinizing hormone. This situation suggests that there is a synergic mechanism between the three components which would explain the decreasing effect on the concentration of the hormone and the anti-inflammatory activity.
Hipotensive activity: the product shows activity on central vasomotor centers. When administered to patients with peripheral arterial circulation compromise the product shows vasodilatation activity and a greater blood flow in the periphery without a significant effect on blood pressure.
